Share what you know. Shape who they become.
The next generation doesn't just need programs, they need real people who've walked the path. If you carry knowledge, a craft, or a story worth passing on, there's a seat for you here.
No account needed to start · Mentoring under-18s requires a background check
A mentor isn't a volunteer filling a shift. You're an expert: a doctor, engineer, hafiz, artist, athlete, founder, tradesperson, bringing what you know to the people who need it most. You choose who you reach and how you show up.
Who you'll reach
Every age. Every stage.
Mentorship here isn't only for kids. Choose the people you're built to pour into.

Ways to contribute
More ways than you'd think
Give an hour or a season. Pick a format below, or invent one. We're building the best center for our community, and the best ideas come from you.
Mentor a program
Bring your skill into an existing NEXGEN program as a recurring coach.
Guest on a podcast
Share your story and expertise on a recorded NEXGEN conversation.
Run a one-off session
One masterclass in your craft, for one group. A SERIES is a program: see /host, which runs registration and payments for you.
1:1 & small-group
Steady, ongoing guidance for a young person or a small circle.
Host office hours
Drop-in "ask-me-anything" clinics in your field: law, medicine, engineering.
Open your workplace
Career shadowing and field trips: a hospital, studio, startup, or masjid.
Judge a showcase
Mentor at pitch nights, science fairs, and competitions.
Mentor from anywhere
Remote mentoring so diaspora experts can pour in from afar.
Bring your own idea
Have a format we haven't thought of? That's exactly what we want.
The boundaries
What we are not asking you to be
You are volunteering your expertise, not your professional liability. Worth reading before you apply, not after.
Mentoring is not therapy
Mentors listen, share perspective, and show up. They do not provide counselling. Even if a mentor is a licensed professional in their day job, they are not acting as one here. When a young person needs clinical support, our job is to help the family find it.
Not medical, legal or financial advice
A doctor can say what the job is like and how they got there. A lawyer can explain how the system works. Neither is treating or advising the person in front of them. We say that out loud in the room.
Not religious authority
Mentors share their own practice and their own story. They do not give rulings or fatwa for us. We point people to a qualified scholar, and mentors are told this before they start.
You are not on your own with it
If something a young person tells you needs to go further, tell the safeguarding lead. You do not decide alone, and you do not need anyone’s permission. Every young person is told the limits of confidentiality before they sit down.
The full youth-safety policy: screening, supervision ratios, one-to-one rules, reporting duty, is published in full.
After you apply
From hello to first session
Someone will be in touch within 5 business days. Here is the whole sequence.
We read it and work out where your skill actually fits.
Someone calls you: a real conversation, not a form letter.
If you will be working with under-18s, we start your background check and a short safeguarding orientation before anything is scheduled.
We put you in front of the right group, for as much time as you offered.
Everyone gets a short orientation. Anyone working with under-18s clears a background check and a safeguarding orientation before their first session: no exceptions, and no unsupervised contact until it is complete.
Tell us what you’d love to share.
Two minutes, no account required. We’ll match your skills to the program, podcast, age group, or circle that needs them, and follow up personally.
- You choose who you reach and how you show up.
- Give a one-off hour or commit to a season.
- We handle scheduling, safeguarding, and logistics.
Not quite mentoring?
- You have a full program you want to run, not a session to join, Host a program
- You want your own recurring show, not a guest appearance, UMMA Studio
Either way, apply here: the form asks, and we route it.
