Mentor Conversations · Teens + Stewards

A place to ask the questions you can't ask anywhere else.

Adam is 13. He feels alone. He has questions about identity, friendships, deen, future. There's no adult in his life who gets both halves of his world. Mentor Conversations is the answer.

Why this exists

The Adam answer.

When we wrote about Adam, dozens of families said: that’s my kid. But none of our other seven programs directly address what Adam is feeling. Pathfinders, Studios, Homebase, those build skills + character + community. They don’t give a kid a person to actually talk to.

Mentor Conversations is the one program built specifically for the question Adam is asking. It’s the most important thing we run, and the most invisible from the outside.

How it works

Four principles that make it real.

01

Listen, not lecture

Stewards are trained to hold space, not to fix or correct. The point is for the kid to feel heard, not handed an answer.

02

Confidential by default

What's said stays between mentor and mentee, except for safety concerns, which trigger our mandatory-reporter protocol. Both rules are explained upfront.

03

Mentor age-matched

Teens (14, 17) pair with Stewards (18, 29) who grew up in this community and recently navigated the same questions.

04

Structured, not aimless

Conversations have rhythm, check-in, theme, reflection, action. Not therapy, not just a chat. A real practice.

What gets talked about

Real topics. Real questions.

A non-exhaustive list of what mentees bring up. Mentors don't push agendas, these are what kids tend to actually want to discuss.

  • 01Identity, who am I at home vs school vs online
  • 02Friendships and belonging
  • 03Faith questions you can't ask at the masjid
  • 04Family pressure, expectations, and how to handle them
  • 05Future, school, work, what you actually want
  • 06Mental health, when something feels off
  • 07Relationships and the lines that matter
  • 08Being Muslim in a world that doesn't always make sense
Safety promise

We err on the side of the kid.

Every mentor is background-checked, trained in safeguarding, trained as a mandatory reporter, and never alone in a closed room with a mentee. If a conversation reveals a safety risk, to self or others, we follow the disclosure protocol, the family is informed, and we connect to licensed professional support immediately. No shortcuts. No exceptions.

Book your kid's first mentor session.

Tour the space, meet the team, see how the program actually runs. We'll match your kid with a Steward whose story rhymes with theirs.
