Character. Courage. Skills for life.
A youth development program adapted from the Scout Method, rooted in Islamic values. Through experiential learning, teamwork, service, and reflection, kids grow into confident, responsible, purpose-driven young people.
Most youth programs teach kids what to do. Pathfinders is built around who they become.
Five age sections. Twelve weeks. Real skills, real responsibility, real reflection. Islamically safe. Universally welcoming.
Kids age up through it.
A clear path from Sprouts to NEXplorers, each section carries the lessons forward.
01
Sprouts
4, 6First wonder
Parent-supported play, character songs, simple service moments. They start to understand they belong to something bigger.
02
Seekers
6, 8First teams
Small group adventures, first responsibilities, the early shape of leadership. They learn their voice matters.
03
Builders
8, 10½First projects
Real building, real outdoor skills, real service projects. They start owning what they make and what they fix.
04
Pathfinders
10½, 14First leadership
They lead younger sections. Plan trips. Run service projects. The Scout-Method-adapted core, character, outdoor, service.
05
NEXplorers
14, 18First independence
Mentor crews, expedition planning, real-world skills, paid leadership reps. They graduate ready to lead, not just follow.
Note: "Builders" here is the Pathfinders 8, 10½ section, distinct from the hub-wide Stewards (18, 29) stage used elsewhere on the site.
How a session works
90 minutes. Six blocks. One method.
Scout Method, adapted to Islamic values, mapped to amanah (trust), ikhlas (sincerity), sabr (patience), khidmah (service). Predictable rhythm so kids know what to expect, and adults can lead well.

Weeks 11, 12
Purpose & Celebration

What kids actually carry home.
Character is built through environment, not lectures. Here’s what runs every session, from how we handle hard moments to the words we open and close with.
The environment
Restorative + Islamically safe.
Discipline is restorative, leaders correct calmly, reinforce expectations, guide youth to reflect and repair. Safety, dignity, and respect are non-negotiable.
- · Respectful language and behavior
- · Modesty and appropriate boundaries
- · Zero tolerance for bullying or harassment
- · Gender-appropriate supervision
What we say together
Opening + closing du’a.
Opening
Allahumma zidnī ʿilman wa khuluqan wa ʿamalan ṣāliḥan.
O Allah, increase me in knowledge, character, and righteous action.
Closing
Allahumma taqabbal minnī wa ihdinī li-aḥsani l-akhlāq.
O Allah, accept from me and guide me to the best of character.
