Membership policies

The answers before you pay, not after.

What happens to your money if you cancel, whether you can pause, how to ask for help with the cost, and what is charged on top. Written down, so nobody has to email to find out.

How do cancellations and refunds work?

Cancel any time and you keep access to the end of the month you have already paid for. We do not pro-rate mid-month, and we do not charge you again after you cancel.

  • Membership is billed monthly with no contract and no cancellation fee. Cancelling stops the next charge, it does not trigger one.
  • When you cancel, your membership stays active until the end of the current billing period. You are not cut off the moment you click.
  • We do not refund part of a month. The trade is that we also never bill you for a month you did not choose to start.
  • If we charged you in error, or charged you after you cancelled, that is a refund and not a judgement call, tell us and we will return it in full.
  • If NEXGEN cancels a program you paid specifically to attend and cannot offer a replacement, that portion is refunded.

Can we pause a membership?

Yes: up to three months in a rolling twelve, with no fee and no loss of your place. Ask before your next billing date.

  • Travel, a hard season at home, a stretch where the drive is not workable: these are ordinary, and losing your membership over them helps nobody.
  • A pause can run from one to three months, and up to three months in any rolling twelve-month period.
  • While paused you are not billed and do not have member access. Your household, your children’s records, and your history stay exactly as they are.
  • Pausing does not cost anything and does not move you to the back of a queue when you return.
  • Ask us before your next billing date. A pause requested after a charge starts from the following month rather than refunding the current one.

How do we ask for a scholarship or a reduced fee?

Email us and say so. There is no form to download, no income documentation required to start the conversation, and asking does not affect how your family is treated here.

  • A scholarship fund is built into the membership model, that is part of what paying members are funding.
  • Write to hello@gonexgen.org, or tell any member of staff. Saying "the price does not work for us" is a complete request; you do not have to explain your circumstances to be taken seriously.
  • We will talk it through privately and agree an amount. Support ranges from a reduced monthly rate to a full waiver.
  • Scholarship status is not visible to other families, and it is not visible in the room. A scholarship member is a member.
  • Homebase tuition is assessed separately from membership, because the amounts are different in kind, raise it during the application conversation.

What costs extra on top of membership?

There is no registration fee and no equipment fee. Membership covers the weekly programs. Off-site trips and a small number of materials-heavy workshops are charged separately, and always priced before you commit.

  • No enrolment fee, no annual fee, and no per-child fee, one household price covers every child.
  • Core weekly programming is included at your tier. What each tier reaches is listed line by line in the comparison table on the membership page.
  • Off-site trips that carry a real cost: transport, entry tickets, are optional and priced up front. Nobody is signed up to a cost by default.
  • A small number of workshops with consumable materials carry a materials charge. It is stated on the workshop before you register, never after.
  • Homebase tuition is separate from membership and is not a membership add-on. Homebase tuition includes Standard family membership.
  • If a cost is not written down before you commit to it, you do not owe it.

What happens to Homebase tuition if we withdraw?

Homebase tuition is non-refundable. It is an annual commitment to a place that is held for your child, and we do not refund tuition already paid if a family withdraws mid-year.

  • Homebase is $4,500 per child, per year, billed at $450 a month across a ten-month school year, with the first and last month ($900) due at sign-up.
  • A Homebase place is staffed and planned for the whole year. When a family withdraws we cannot recover that cost or fill the seat mid-year, which is why tuition already paid is not returned.
  • This is the one part of NEXGEN that does not work like membership. Monthly membership can be cancelled anytime; Homebase cannot.
  • We would much rather you were sure before you start than unhappy afterwards, which is why Homebase has an application conversation rather than a checkout button. Ask every hard question in it, including this one.
  • If NEXGEN ends the program, or cannot deliver it, that is our failure and not yours: in that case the unused portion is refunded.

Still not sure?

Ask before you join, not after. We would rather answer a question than take money from a family that turns out not to fit.
